This is it my final blog for the IE Project. Thanks to all the teaching staff for all the help and events they have put on for us throughout the year.
Well the project is over and we've had the expo. Jon is very happy with the result and told me that he believes our end product to be one of the more professional packages. Something that is very gratifying after all the work that has been put in.
I've learnt a lot about what goes into producing a system and there is no way I could ever have imagined that it would be so much work and demand so much time. I have also learnt a lot about people, be it how they deal with pressure, or how sometimes not being upfront can cause bigger problems.
It could be said that there was a little tension between team members, however I dont believe it was anything personal, perhaps it was just some pepoples way of dealing with things.
The entire project I believe was a way to put into practice all the things we have learnt throughout our studies, and that it did.
Overall I am very happy with the way it all turned out and I look forward to the completion of my course.
Thats all for now.

Week 12, Holoday is over!
Well this past week was a long week, I was helping out a friend who runs a concreting business.............hard work.
As far as the project is going it's pretty much there now, just finishing up with the user doc and test doc, the test doc is arguably the most boring thing I have ever done in my life.
The guys had a meeting on Monday with Jon, unfortunately I could not make it, surprising..........seeing I was only told about it an hour before it happened............
All has been going well with the other subjects, with the rest of my assignments due this week I'm going to be a busy boy.
Will fit another blog in later in the week.
Till then

Week 10 is over
Its been another busy week, lots of assignment work has been done, however there is still quite a bit to do. Have got quite a bit of project work to do but this may have to be placed on the back burner till later in the week as other deadlines are a bit sooner.
I'm currently writing a report for one of my other subjects (FIT2051), this may sound a bit weired but I'm actually enjoying writing it.
Testing has started and is being done by Jason, Paul and myself. I also have to do some user doc work which overlaps with some of the help stuff I did last week, so that should make it a bit easier. The test doc is massive, close to 150 pages, we divided it into between the 3 of us so that it's a bit easier and less mind numbing.
The project seems to be going really well, hopefully something that can continue till the end.
I have heard that the final interview is going to be a group interview, this should be very interesting as i think that there are some issues that will come out among the group, should be interesting.................
Till next time

Week 10
Well this week is really busy, I have done the help stuff that Dino has asked me to do and that's all that I had to do last week, that's all that Dino wanted me to do, which is fine with me as I have a lot of other things to do.
Annoyingly last weeks studio was not to be attended by our group, which is fine, it would have been nice for the our "Project Manager" Dino to let us know. I ended up calling him and he managed to let me know this about 15 minutes before the studio, thanks anyway..........
Steve and Dino were doing the uploading of the site in H building, when I offered to come and help I was met with a "nah don't worry about it, just add to the help section stuff you've already done". I found this weired as we have had issues in the past regarding to participation in the project, bit weired but anyway.
I notice a growing tension in the group between the programmers and the documentors, I think that they feel that they are doing all the work and we are doing nothing.
The fact is that, as Dave told me, programmers are probably going to have to do a lot of work as it is up to them to build and implement the new solution. That's just the nature of the project. At the same time they have not lifted a hand to do any of the documentation in this semester, the bulk of it has been done by Paul and Myself. You don't see me carrying on about it though.
My stance since day one is that I do what I am asked to do by my project manager, if he wants me to do this or that, that's what I'll do.
The project testing is going to start shortly and I hop it all goes well.

Week 8 Is Over
Well we are nearly there, implementation is nearly upon us.
Sorry Dave for not Blogging last week I know you must have been agonisingly bored without reading about he inner workings of my mind. Nothing really too interesting to report this week
Unfortunately I could not make this weeks studio due to some major car problems which has seen my bank account take a bit of a dive.
All my other subjects are going well but as we all know now is the time if the semester where a lot of time is going to be demanded of me. All in all things are going well.
That's all for now

Week 7 is here
This is it....getting to the business part of the semester now. Last week was good we all seem to be charging towards the completion of the project.
One thing that did get on my nerves last week was that everyone was stressing the issue about meeting deadlines, which is all well and good. So I finished the revised doc that i was assigned and then at the last minute some of the guys tell us, we'll just hand it to Dave next week?????
This really annoyed me as I had already finished it and had put in the effort to ensure it was done. With that said if that's is the only issue, that's fine.
On a positive note the project is well on the way to being completed, from what I've heard from friends and their projects we seem to be doing a lot better than most.
I think that the group dynamics have really come together this past few weeks, people know what their roles are and what they're supposed to be doing, and most importantly we're getting it done.
All the first round of assignments have been done for other subjects and I am in a really good place regarding school work, hopefully I can keep it up.

Week 6 -Getting There
Well.......
I have had a lot of stuff to do this past week, 3 assignments all up, but I got them done and was very happy with all of them.
As for IE my job was to do the revised standards and Governance Doc which I will be giving to Dave today for him to look over and give any recommendations or additions. All in all the team is going well..........as far as I know........
I think I've figured Steve out though, the problem is that if he doesn't know how to do something it's always someone else's fault (Myself, Paul, Janet). He seems to need a scapegoat for all his shortcoming's. I would have a lot more respect for him if he was to say "I've bitten off more than I can chew, can someone give me a hand".
All I know is that I've always done what I've been asked to do, so i can sleep well at night.
Thats all for now

Start of Week 4
I really need to get this off my chest, i just got back from todays studio and some group members are acting like children. If you ask someone a question regarding the project, You'd expect an answer, not some smartarse comment which is uncalled for.
Firstly one thing that people should know about me is that i cant stand 2 faced people, nice to your face and bitching behind your back not the way i am, never have been and never will be. Just want to take this weeks opportunity, so that people can hear my piece, undoubtedly others have blogged with their views now here's mine.
Called both dino and steve after we had meeting about the team. LIKE A MAN told them exactly what i thought. Told the guys if theresa problem address it immediately, dont let it blow up.If your not happy with something say it there and then. Have the balls to do that at least, dont be a coward and bitch behind peoples backs like teenage girls in a school yard.
Steve is constantly acting like a spoilt child. GROW UP. Adding "oh yeah, i know that" after someone says something, when you clearly didnt, makes you an expert on nothing at all! Steves quote of the day today "Nah, the work was good, I'm just trying to stir things".
Dino's "cant be bothered, its my day off" in relation to client meetings, just not good eneough in my opinion. The thing that really got on my nerves however is this.If your the project manager act like it if your not happy with the standard of work saysometing, dont bitch about it to other group members, approach people like a MAN and tell them. Bitching to others isnt going to solve anything mate. How would i know if theres anything wrong with the work i give you when all you say is "thats good" with a smile on your face when you take it from me.
Another thing is meetings when its convenient for them and only them (Dino and Steve). Then having the ordasidy to criticise others when they/i cant make the meeting, c'mon fairs fair.
Jason's sitting by with his 2 cents (hesitatingly "y..y...yeah try that????" when you clearly have no idea what your talking about) isnt my idea of work. I could do that to, but i'm not a bull**** artist!
Constantly criticising Paul treating him like a dumbass, how is that going to motivate the guy?
Me and Paul did the whole test plan, after a meeting about teamwork! how does that work? And now have been assigned to do another doc which no-one intends on helping with. Doesnt bother me Paul and i are more than equal to the task. Asking for input from others was like you asked them for their last dollar ("yeah, just do this" or "I dunno"). Didnt matter though we did a pretty good job if i must say so, Paul and I that is!

Week 4 Already
Well what happened last week, Paul and I finished the test plan for the project and thats about all really, seems to have been a slow week for most of the group. Still a bit unhappy about the way some of the group go about "management" tasks. That is if your not happy about something tell the person, dont go bitching about it behind peoples backs, thats not going to achieve anything. People wont know if things arent up to scratch if you dont tell them.
All the other subjects are going well and i look forward to completing the project, which we seem well on the way to doing.
All in all things are going well, just waiting for the first round of assignments :o(
Thats all for now......probably add another blog later in the week.

Hello Semester 2
Well the holidays were great. Went to queensland for 2 weeks with my girlfriend and couldnt have enjoyed it more.
Unfortunately did not make the first class of semester 2 due to some unforeseen events.
Came back today and had a talk with the group, surprisingly some group members have been harbouring frustration with some other group members and let it all out today, probably could have gone about it in a more professional manner with a little less immaturity, but whats done is done and we are all mature eneough to get over it.
The project seems to be progressing a little slower than initially thought but never the less progress is still being made. Some group members were perhaps too quick to adopt the "thats easy I can do it" attitude, hence the frustration.
We are now all clear on what is to be done and will work towards our goals.
Thats all for now

Final for Semester 1
Im back!
By my own admission I have been a little slack in the blogging department for this semester. Eneough about that, so what has happened this semester? This semester has been pretty good all up, the only drama was the constant travelling between work and school on a daily basis.
As far as the proect goes, everything has gone very well. I've met a great group of guys, all of whom are pulling their weight. The great thing is that our team is working that well all the requirements that we've had to do have seemed soomewhat easy. I know that this is going to change in semester 2, not the team, but the work.
I couldnt be happier with my team and look forward to the upcoming semester where all the technical work is to begin.

Week 6
This week I had assignments due for other subjects, hence could not spend as much time as I would have like to on the project. I did manage to still do work on the business case. There is a meeting planned for later in the week with our client. We have also found some software to use for the forum that Jon (our client) wishes to implement. This week we are going to finalise the business case. We have also heard that everyone went well in standards and governance doc which is reassuring. The meeting has been planned to propose some of the software to Jon, hopefully he will approve. Till next time

Week 5
This is the first week back from our mid semester break. Last week we ahd another client meeting unfortunately i could no attend, the restb of the guys went to the HP Computer Museum. They were all very impressed and said it was organised quite well consiidering the amount of things that were in there. Next week we have to complete the business case. We ahve all started looking at pieces of software that we might be able to use that may help us with some of the functionality requested by our client. So far all is going well.
Week 4
This week we have finalised our standards and governance doc. There is a bit of a break before our next deliverable. The project is coming along nicely and has started too become much more real, we have met our client, he seems to be very keen on the prject and seems to want to have a lot to do with it. This is understandable as it is his web site at the end of the day.

Week 3
Things are happening this week and I really feel as though I am really working and putting my knowledege to use. We ahve been given our client , hp computer museum. This is going to be a challenging experience, one that will test each team member and will require us to band together as a gropup, not just as individuals. This week we met our client for the first time, which was veryt interesting as it gives you the feeling that someone is counting on you and your work. Things are looking good and I have a lot of confidence in my team and myself, together we will strive to do our best and complete theproject as intended. Thats all for now.

Week 2
Unfortunately was struck down with the flu of the century this week, as a result have found myself a bit out of the mix. However thanks to my group and our google group I have managed to catch up. We were given our group roles and assigned responsibilities. I am the hardware specialist / analyst (sounds inmpressive). This was pleasing as I find that is my strongpoint. We have assigned tasks among eachother in order to achieve next weeks deliverables. All in all things are going well, team dynamics are very good which will hopefully be reflected in our work. Thats all for now.
